GCS named Accountancy College of the Year (Public Sector)

Gower College Swansea has been named Accountancy College of the Year (Public Sector) at the prestigious PQ Magazine awards, a publication specifically for part qualified accountants.

"We are absolutely delighted with our win and very happy to share it with the Accountancy team at the University of South Wales, Newport - it was a great night for Wales!" says Curriculum Leader Paul Sizer.

The college was nominated for four awards in total - Accountancy College of the Year (Public Sector,) Innovation in Accountancy, Accountancy Team of the Year and PQ of the Year (student Kate Reed.)

“Last year we were shortlisted in just the one category so we really feel, with four nominations, that we are going from strength to strength,” adds Paul.

Gower College Swansea has a well proven track record when it comes to delivering professional qualifications such as accountancy. In fact, it is the only FE college in the UK to be awarded the highly sought-after platinum approved learning partner status by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as a result of its commitment to training and student support.
