Another success story for The Bridge Programme

Updated 30/05/2017

After completing the Bridge Programme with top marks, Gower College Swansea student Abdul Zanain is now progressing onto a Level 2 Digital Technology course at the Tycoch campus.

His interest in digital technology began after he completed a taster session at the Tycoch campus as part of the Bridge course.

“I didn’t really know what digital technology was at first but I really enjoyed my first lesson and it motivated me to enrol on the full time course,” says Abdul. “I am really happy with my progress and have my sights set on university eventually. The Bridge was an amazing experience for me and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough to anyone who is a bit unsure of what they want to do in terms of studying.”

“Abdul has integrated himself fully into his class and is on course to complete with excellent results,” adds lecturer Cameron Jones. “He is a valued member of the group who always leads by example. Always happy and positive, he is willing to contribute to discussions and possesses a mature attitude to his studies.”

The Bridge programme is aimed at young people aged 16-19 who are undecided about their future career path. It gives students an opportunity to sample a range of different subject areas, enabling them to make informed decisions about their next step and equipping them with skills and qualities that are required by employers.
