A wide range of A Levels is available in this section. Some will be familiar, whereas others will be new to students – that is, they will not have been available at GCSE – which is a good reason to take a close look and perhaps find the very subject you were looking for. For instance, many will have studied Geography at GCSE and will want to find out more about Geology. Psychology and Sociology might also be unfamiliar.
GCSE courses are also available in certain subjects for those who wish to study on a part time basis.
Practical sessions are conducted in modern, well-equipped laboratories. Students are encouraged to compete in national competitions and perform well each year.
Maths, Science and Social Sciences Student of the Year: Marie-Julie Cnudde
This student possesses outstanding academic ability which is reflected by her holding a provisional offer from Kings College Cambridge to study Medicine. She was selected for Villiers Park to attend an intellectually stretching course on neuroscience and, in her own time, regularly attended the HE+ extension sessions in college. This unstoppable energy and enthusiasm is also applied to a range of extra-curricular and she recently reached a Grade 6 in ballet.
