A range of full and part time courses are available, tailored to students with learning difficulties, specialist education needs and/or behavioural requirements. We have a close working relationship with the City & County of Swansea’s Social Services Department which ensures that the courses match the educational needs of students. Full time courses are delivered at the Tycoch campus.

ILS Student of the Year: Jonty Bodger

Jonty has made excellent progress whilst studying on the PACE course and soon progressed onto the STTEP programme. He has joined the ILS football team and has even represented the college in the Welsh Football Association tournament. He has completed work experience within the Estates department - this has enabled him to be more confident and experience a variety of skills, which in turn has enabled him to apply for a level 1 Plumbing course.

Bits and Bobs

Independent Living Skills students at Gower College Swansea gain regular work experience in Bits and Bobs, the general store which they run at the Tycoch campus. Students and staff find it really useful to be able to pop in to pick up those essentials which they need during the day and the ILS students gain a range of experience in displaying stock, customer service and handling money.
