Overview
The Pearson BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Art and Design is a one year program that nurtures artistic abilities and unleashes creative potential. Students explore various artistic techniques, materials, and processes, developing skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art.
Guided by experienced tutors, students gain hands-on experience and express ideas visually. The program encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and artistic exploration, establishing a strong foundation in art and design.
Whether aspiring painters, illustrators, or graphic designers, this diploma equips students with the basic skills and knowledge in the art and design area.
Key information
- Three GCSEs grade D-G
- More appropriate for those who did not take GCSE Art at school.
There are ten units that require passing (no exams). These are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Most learners progress onto either Level 2 Technical Diploma in Art and Design or Level 2 Technical Diploma in Photography.
There is a studio fee of £25 per year for this course and this will cover all resources required for the year.
